I have been struggling with the fabric, I can't stand and it's satin every time I end up getting satin on a costume to make. It always keeps unraveling every time, and so I get my scissors and cut the strings, but when it keeps unraveling I get my scissors and cut them again. I don't know what else to do besides that same habit of mine and to stop wasting on it.

Are you hemming your edges? or do you mean its fraying as you're working with it? You can't avoid fraying during the sewing process much but don't cut the strings unless it gets really tangled, it just makes it worse. I try to avoid satin though as much as possible unless it really matches the character's design.
Making one while working on it ! Now that, I didn't know...hahaha sorry for the question, if it confused you at first and, I agree with you even more about satin now in these days, I'm against them...but when it comes to the characters outfit, I may have no choice but to use it. Maybe next time I won't give you a confusing question hahaha.
